Tuesday

Wiggly Wigglers flowers

Today we visited three local businesses: Hopes of Longtown, White Haywood Farm resturand and Wiggly Wigglers. They told us what kind of business they had, and it was very interesting to see how it was in the middle of nowhere. From each business got two problems to solve, but we are doing that tomorrow. I think that the prep team wants us to think like entrepreneurs;)

To be continued ..

Monday

Discussing business plans

Time to update you again!

All day we had different sessions. We started by defining a entrepreneur and discuss its various strengths and weaknesses. The other session was all about business plans. We discussed why one should have a business plan, what should be in it and how layup should be to capture the reader's interest. It is obviously very important for an entrepreneur to have a business plan for their business.

The last session focused on social networking. A woman visited us and talked about how you can use such as Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn in the business. It seems that Twitter is very popular among entrepreneurs in England. We use twitter in Sweden too, but not as much as in England.

In the evening it was time for the fun stuff again. A bunch of happy old men came to us and taught us several different dances, some with sticks. later in the evening we hung out at the bar and had a nice time. I get to know all the participants more and more each day passing by, it's extremely fun to be here and get to experience all this in England! *thankful*

Exciting days!

Picture from today's international buffet

Hi!

My name is Linnea and I'm from Sweden. After many weeks of waiting, I am finally in England. I arrived yesterday ( saturday ) with my friend Kristian from Sweden and another bunch of people from different parts of Europe. When we arrived at the hostel we first had lunch. The food was very different from the food in Sweden , I did not like it that much ;) In the evening we played some games to "break the ice" and get to know each other, it was very fun. I went to bed very early that night because I was so tired after the journey that began at 4 am .

Today we began to introduce ourselves, our country, our organization and a local business. It was very interesting listening to the different nationalities in Europe. I learned new things about both the countries and organizations that the participants representat at the seminar.

We also talked about our fears for the week. My biggest fear is to speak English with the others, they are so good! Perhaps because English is the first language of many people. I'm guessing that my English will improve during the week.

Today we also had team building . We were divided into groups and were asked to solve different tasks together . We even got to shoot the bow and climb onto a high scary pillar.

Now I'm sitting alone in the classroom. I just got here from the international buffet, it was greate! The food is very different from the food in Sweden, but i did like some of it :) Time for bed now. I hope that the rest of the week will be as fun as today was!

Peace and love
